I’ve discovered that going through the public system, even in an emergency, is long winded. Out of the numerous phone numbers I was given in order to find counselling, after hours, for Daniel, most of them had a long waiting list. Upon sharing the circumstances with these people, they all agreed that Daniel couldn’t wait.

Finally, in desperation, I decided to go private. It’s expensive, but Daniel is worth it. On Friday afternoon, I made a final phone call and he was booked in for a counselling session on Saturday. It was such a relief.

I’ll talk more about that session in another post.
